Submission Guidelines

  • Submission Languages: manuscripts are accepted in English or French.
  • Required Structure: manuscripts should normally include Title, Abstract of 150–250 words, 4–6 Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review or Theoretical Framework where appropriate, Methodology, Results or Analysis, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

Given the diversity of doctrinal, comparative, jurisprudential, theoretical, and empirical private-law research, manuscripts are not required to follow a conventional empirical structure when such a format is not appropriate. Legal studies may instead be organized into coherent thematic sections and subsections suited to the research question and methodology.

  • Manuscript Preparation: authors must prepare submissions in accordance with the journal’s official manuscript template and formatting requirements.
  • Research Articles: normally between 6,000 and 10,000 words.
  • Research Notes: normally between 3,000 and 5,000 words.
  • Submission Method: manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s online submission platform.
  • Editorial Process:
  1. Initial screening by the Editor-in-Chief or editorial team.
  2. Double-blind peer review by at least two qualified reviewers.
  3. Revision by the author where required.
  4. Assessment of the revised manuscript.
  5. Final editorial decision based on originality, academic quality, methodological rigor, legal relevance, and compliance with the journal’s scope.

Authors submitting empirical research involving human participants, interviews, surveys, confidential commercial information, personal data, or sensitive legal records must comply with applicable research ethics, confidentiality, and data-protection requirements.
